Schoodic Peninsula is to the east of Mount
Desert Island. The 2000 acre land also belongs to Acadia National Park. Across
the Frenchman Bay people can have views of Mount Desert Island. The scenic
drive is about 5 miles long. The views along the road is quite beautiful
and is said to be the most photographed location in Maine.
It was about one and half hours drive from the main park.
There were not too many visitors, maybe due to the further east
driving. We came here before we went home thus
resulted an extra 3 hours drive.

We rushed for every pullouts and took pictures
in a hurry. I felt guilty because the beautiful views were somewhat wasted.
The best we should do there was actually doing nothing and just let the
time flow.

The water was so clean and clear that it looked like
a pool of emerald. Cool ocean breeze made us dizzy and we really should
have a late afternoon nap there.
